My Top 10 Favourite Movies

What are your top ten favorite movies?

Films are tied to memories, emotions, and different stages of my life. They remind me of who I was, who I am, and sometimes who I wanted to be. So here’s my list, not perfect, not fixed forever, but the ones that have stayed with me.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ)

This one shaped me. Teenage years, identity, love, rebellion, family, all rolled into a single film. It wasn’t just Bollywood romance, it was a reflection of that time in my life, full of chaos and hope.

Interstellar

Not just about space. This was about love, time, and the bond between a father and child. Every time I watch it, it moves me in a way that’s hard to explain.

Arrival

A quiet masterpiece. It showed me that language and understanding can be more powerful than any weapon. It lingers long after the credits roll.

2012

People might laugh, but I love disaster films. Watching the world collapse and seeing how humanity reacts has always fascinated me.

The Day After Tomorrow

Another disaster film that hooked me. Maybe it’s my way of looking at how fragile life is, how nature reminds us who’s in charge.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (K3G)

Family drama at its loudest, but it connects with me. It’s about tradition, culture, and the struggle between expectations and freedom.

Training Day

Raw and gritty. Denzel Washington at his absolute best, showing how power can corrupt and destroy.

The Matrix

This wasn’t just action. It was philosophy. It questioned reality, control, and who really pulls the strings. It planted thoughts in me that I still think about now.

John Wick

Sometimes you just need pure style, grit, and vengeance. Keanu Reeves turned violence into something like art here.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

Youth, love, friendship, choices. This one speaks to the journeys we take and the people we sometimes lose along the way. It’s more than a film, it’s a reminder of how moments shape us.

Each of these films has been more than entertainment. They’ve been markers of my life, childhood memories, growing pains, questions about reality, and even quiet reminders of the importance of love, family, and faith. They’re stitched into who I am.

But honestly, ten isn’t enough. There are so many more that have left their mark on me, The Notebook with its raw take on love, the Marvel films that bring out the child in me, the magic of Harry Potter, the grit of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, and the cool sharpness of Daniel Craig’s James Bond. I’ve always loved movies. Sometimes it’s just to get lost in another world, and sometimes it’s to remember myself.

And that’s what The Narratives is really about, the stories we carry, whether they come from our own lives or from the films, books, and memories that shape us. These movies aren’t just favourites. They’re part of my story.

    1. Not a fan of the man, but his work? Yes mostly, when he sticks to who he is and doesn’t experiment too much. He’s about style with substance, weddings, parties, colour and fantasy romance. 🙂

Thank you so much for reading and commenting. I really appreciate it.
