The Narratives – Mohamed Miah

If someone asked me what I’d wish for with a genie’s three wishes, my answer might surprise them. I don’t believe in asking a genie, a jinn, or any supernatural being for something. When I need guidance, strength, or a change in this world, I turn to Allah. Only He holds the power to make things happen, and only He knows the true plan.

Every time I raise my hands in prayer, I find myself asking for a few things, with a heart full of hope:

1. Peace in Palestine

My first dua is for Palestine. The struggle, the oppression, and the hardship faced by our brothers and sisters there weigh heavily on my heart. I ask Allah to bring them peace, justice, and the freedom they deserve. Their pain is our pain, and their joy, our joy. I believe that one day, in His perfect timing, He will answer.

2. Peace for the Whole Ummah

My second prayer is for the entire Ummah. Across the world, Muslims face trials and challenges, and my heart aches for them all. I ask Allah to ease their burdens, to bring unity where there’s division, and to strengthen us as one community. We are bound by faith, and I pray we continue to find strength in that unity, no matter where we are.

3. Unity in Humanity

Lastly, I ask for unity in humanity. This world is divided in so many ways—by race, religion, borders, and misunderstandings. I ask Allah to bring hearts together, to remind us of the beauty of kindness, and to guide us toward compassion. I know that true unity comes from understanding and respect, and I believe He can help us see that.

In the end, I trust in Allah’s wisdom. He is the best of planners, and everything will happen when He wills it. So, if you ask me about three wishes, my answer is simple—I’ll ask Allah, always, and wait patiently for His answer.
