What things give you energy?
Have you ever stopped to think about what truly energises you? I mean, what makes you feel alive, driven, and ready to take on the world? It’s easy to lose sight of these things when life gets busy, but recently, I’ve been reflecting on this. So, here are some of the things that keep me going, things that fuel my mind, body, and soul.
New Challenges
There’s something thrilling about diving into something new, whether it’s at work or in life. I’ve always been drawn to new challenges—it’s that rush of trying to navigate unfamiliar territory that really gets me interested. Now, I won’t lie, sometimes seeing things through to the end is a bit trickier! But there’s no denying the initial burst of energy that comes from starting something fresh. It’s like plugging into a power source. The adrenaline of solving problems and thinking critically always energises me, and it keeps me moving forward even when the road is tough.
A Journey for the Soul
Travel is one of those things that I simply can’t get enough of. Whether it’s a quick weekend getaway or a longer trip abroad, travelling breathes new life into me. There’s just something about being in a new place, seeing new sights, tasting different foods, and experiencing a fresh atmosphere. Meeting up with loved ones during these trips adds another layer of joy, but sometimes, just being on the move itself can be enough. There’s nothing quite like it. Even just the thought of planning the next trip gives me energy!
Family and Connection
Family, for me, is everything. The time I spend with my family isn’t just precious, it’s revitalising. Whether it’s laughing over a meal, playing with my kids, or simply hanging out with them after a long day, these moments are my lifeblood. And it doesn’t stop with my immediate family; meeting with extended relatives and loved ones is a core part of how I recharge. These connections, the conversations, the shared experiences—they refill me like nothing else.
The City Vibes
There’s something magical about big cities. The energy of London, Birmingham, Manchester—these places have a unique rhythm that speaks to me. Whenever I’m in London, it’s like a switch flips in me. The rush of people, the vibrancy of city life, the endless opportunities around every corner—it all comes together to charge me up. I think it’s the unpredictability of big cities that keeps me on my toes and fills me with a sense of adventure, even if I’m just walking down a busy street.
Cooking Rejuvenation
Cooking is another one of my personal joys. There’s something about preparing a meal for my family or close relatives that not only fills the house with delicious aromas but fills me with energy too. It’s therapeutic, creative, and fulfilling all at the same time. Seeing my loved ones enjoy something I’ve made makes all the effort worth it. Whether it’s a well-thought-out feast or a simple dish thrown together on a busy day, cooking brings me peace and a sense of accomplishment.
The Balancing Act
When I think about another thing that truly energises me, I can’t forget the importance of taking care of myself. Self-care comes in many forms—whether it’s finding time to be active, to rest, or simply treating myself now and again. This also extends to the creative side of me, whether it’s writing this blog, working on stories, jotting down poems, or capturing moments through photography. Creativity gives me a sense of purpose and is something that fills me with energy in a way that nothing else can.
Faith The Ultimate Source
Finally, one of the biggest sources of energy for me comes from my faith. Praying regularly and staying focused on my spiritual journey is incredibly grounding. It gives me clarity, peace, and most of all, the energy to navigate life’s ups and downs. There’s something profoundly comforting in aligning myself with my faith, and it’s an essential part of what drives me every day.
So there it is—my recipe for staying energised. We all find energy in different places, and it’s important to tap into those things that make us feel alive. Whether it’s through challenges, travel, family, creativity, or faith, I’ve come to realise that the things that fuel me are the things that bring me the most joy.
What fuels you? Take a moment to reflect—you might just discover something new.
